Love and Peace is Discovered Through Deep Healing

Most pain originates from a source wound. Consequently, we often talk about connecting to “source” as in a spiritual connection to God for personal healing. What happens though, if we connect to that source on the shadow side. Basically, meaning that we are connecting with the source of our biggest patterns and wounds. Eventually, we seek deep healing from the inside out.

Spiritual & Emotional Healing Through Self

All of life is like yin and yang. In our spiritual and emotional selves, we have the shadow side and the light side. Life is a delicate dance between the two. What we have to pay attention to is where we are dancing. Do we spend a great deal of time in the “shadow” ruminating on old stories? Or do we put a conscious effort into growing our spiritual awareness?

Where Deep Healing Actually Begins

Most of the pain we carry goes back to one place – the source wound. Every day we get hurt, have setbacks, and face hardships in our lives. We may find ourselves telling ourselves some old story: I’m not good enough, or people always leave me, etc. It seems that the emotion is arising in the moment but the truth is that these wounds can often be traced back to an earlier time when you were first ignored, picked on, or forgotten.
Yet, real healing starts when we dive into our shadow side and reach the source of our own deepest patterns. Connecting to “source” is a spiritual idea but the reality is that we are the source of our happiness, or our misery.

A Tale of Emptiness

Often our “shadow story” is a frightening tale of emptiness or a deep feeling of being alone. Many people experience constant fear or anger despite all attempts not to. And when life shifts and it is not what you thought it would be, this stirs up the wounding.

You and thousands more feel these issues right now and hope for healing. These put-downs are a program running in the background of your daily world. A source wound is a festering wound you return to when times get tough and lousy. These uglies happily wait for the opportunity to arise and bash you once again.

Residing in Love or Fear

The Hopi say: either you are residing in love or fear. There is no in-between. Either you feel connected, or you feel alone. If you live in one, you cannot reside in the other. A daily check-in with yourself determines if you are in the love state or fear state. You cannot be in two places at the same time. If you’re in fear, that’s usually the source wound running the show, not the present moment. Over the last decade, I have worked with numerous clients. The primary core wound I have seen is the story, “I’m not worthy.” When we tell ourselves this over and over again, it begins to drive an emotional fear. The fear then keeps us from showing up, exploring new things, deepening relationships, and accepting the love we deserve.

The Detrimental Effects of Isolation

When we are hurting, isolation can feel like the safest place to be. We may shut people out and think that we need to handle everything on our own. Yet prolonged isolation can deepen the very wounds we are trying to escape.

Without connection, old stories and fears magnify and leave us trapped in our own thoughts. We get trapped inside our thoughts and disconnect from the support, love, and perspectives that can help us heal.

Healing does not require us to go through our pain alone. Having healthy connections allow us to be seen, heard, and valued. We start to reconnect with ourselves. Sometimes, taking the first step toward healing simply means allowing ourselves to step out of isolation

Move Into Love for Peace

When we embrace love, we embrace all that the Universe has to offer. Love is the foundation of all things. However, if you fail to start with yourself, you are never going to be able to go deep with someone else. True self-love is simply having confidence in yourself and learning your value. It means taking care of your own needs and not depleting yourself for the sake of another.  That’s why we must constantly be refueling and nurturing ourselves. When we are the best we can be for ourselves, we are the best we can be for others.

Steps to Release the Source Wound

Recognize the Pattern
Notice the thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that continually surface when you feel hurt, rejected, abandoned, or afraid. Your awareness is the first step toward understanding what is really being triggered.

Identify the Source Wound
Look beneath the present situation and ask yourself where this feeling first began. What earlier experience taught you to believe you were not worthy, safe, loved, or enough?

Separate the Past from the Present
Learn to recognize when an old wound is influencing your response to something happening today. The past may have shaped your story, but it does not have to determine your present.

Release the Old Story
Challenge the beliefs that have kept you living from fear. You can acknowledge what happened without continuing to carry the same judgment, shame, or limiting belief into every new experience.

Choose Love and Self-Trust
Begin consciously choosing thoughts, relationships, and actions that reflect your inherent worth. As you develop greater compassion and trust in yourself, you create the space to live from love rather than allowing the source wound to run the show.

All five of these aspects, when activated, result in a more whole and balanced person. We are all part of this incredible Universe. The Hopi say we are part of the great song of creation. We just need to find and establish our voice to become a part of the great song of humanity. In the end, love and peace is discovered through the process of deep healing.

Releasing Fear and Embracing the Truth of Ourselves

Releasing fear begins with recognizing that we are not the stories our wounds have taught us to believe. We are more than the rejection, disappointment, abandonment, or pain we have experienced. When we become willing to look honestly at our patterns without judgment, we can begin to separate the truth of who we are from the fear that has shaped how we see ourselves. Deep healing is not about erasing the past; it is about freeing ourselves from allowing the past to define our present. As we release old beliefs and reconnect with our inherent worth, we create space for peace, love, connection, and a deeper trust in ourselves to take root.
