How does BusinessRate select winners, and what’s the scoring methodology?
BusinessRate uses publicly available data from Google Business Profiles. They collect up to 100 of the most recent reviews and score businesses based on:
Review Volume: Ensuring there’s a statistically significant number of reviews.
Recency of Reviews: Prioritizing more recent customer feedback.
Quality of Reviews: Weighting average star ratings and distribution.
Only the top performers (in categories with at least five competitors) receive the award. This method offers a fair and objective way to spotlight excellence.
